Shara Clark, APR, is an award-winning communicator with more than 15 years of experience in strategic communications, public relations and social media. She has substantial background in nonprofit PR and in corporate communications, focused primarily in the insurance and financial services space.
Currently, she teaches public relations strategy and planning at Miami University and serves as the faculty advisor to Miami’s Public Relations Student Society of America chapter, the fourth largest in the country.
Clark spent more than 10 years at a Fortune 500 company where she launched and managed the brand’s social media presence, oversaw corporate advertising and external partnerships, provided strategic communications counsel to multiple business units and supported corporate branding initiatives.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in Speech Communications and Public Relations from Miami University, and has received a Certificate in Social Media from Cincinnati State. In 2013, she received her APR (Accredited Public Relations) designation from the Universal Accreditation Board through the Public Relations Society of America. She is also a member of Phi Beta Kappa.
Clark has been actively involved in the Cincinnati Public Relations Society of American where she currently serves on the board as the president-elect. Her previous roles included vice president of programming, co-chairing the Blacksmith Awards and serving as a delegate to the PRSA National Assembly. She also has volunteered her time on the public relations committees for the Cincinnati YWCA and the Ron Clark Academy, has coached youth basketball and served as an advisor for Alpha Sigma Alpha sorority.
